Beginning his career as a web designer/developer, Andrew pioneered new ground in web accessibility for the Chicago-based disability rights organization Equip for Equality. There he initiated a comprehensive overhaul of the site with award-winning results, and under his direction the site amassed over 800 content pages (all hand coded), up from the 3 pages he inherited on his first day. Andrew still hand codes sites from scratch, and enjoys it, but now carries a variety of CMS platforms with him everywhere he goes.
Today Andrew focuses on two main areas: web development and new media. In addition to coding standards-compliant sites for a variety of top agencies and clients, Andrew has helped clients such as Dell, PBS Kids, American Express, and the Illinois Symphony Orchestra shape successful web strategies.
An avid new media enthusiast and Chicago Cubs fan, Andrew co-founded Cubscast in 2005, and has overseen its steady climb as one of the highest-rated independently produced podcasts in the world, consistently ranking above podcasts produced by the likes of ESPN, HBO, and the BBC. With the Cubscast model in mind, Andrew recently co-founded Sportscasts, LLC, where he is responsible for coordinating the company’s expansion to 13 markets outside of Chicago.
Andrew received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Web Design & Multimedia from the Illinois Institute of Art in 2003. He also sits on the board of a non-profit organization focused on mentoring kids in Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood through storytelling, acting, and the annual production of a short film.
